Countertop Basins

About

Counter Top Basins: Above-Counter Bowls in Ceramic, Stone and Fireclay A counter top basin sits on top of the vanity, so it becomes the focal point of the bathroom. It's also one of the easiest ways to give a renovation personality, because the shapes, textures and colours go well beyond the standard white bowl. Shapes and sizes Round basins, like the Claya Luna 36, Diamond 36, Mini 30 and Marvane 40, suit compact vanities and ensuites. Oval and pill shapes, such as the Claya Oval 40, 46, 48 and 60 and the Pill 56, give more elbow room in family bathrooms. Rectangular and square options, like the Claya RT-4837, RT-5033 and SQ-385, have a crisp, architectural look. Measure the vanity depth and leave room for the tap behind the basin. Textures and colours Claya's textured basins, including the Ruby, Diamond, Wavy, Arrow and Tessina cuts, add a tactile, handmade feel. They come in matte white, matte black, gloss white and two-tone combinations, and the Mini 30 even comes in matte pink. The Claya Brighton 36 adds a hand-painted gold rim. For something truly different, Oliveri's Terzofoco fireclay basins come in earthy glazes, Madu Living crafts handmade terrazzo stone basins like the Milla, and Mercio's Vale basin has a natural oak look. Poseidon offers a fluted round basin in three finishes. Taps for counter top basins Because the rim sits high, you'll need a high rise basin mixer or a wall mixer.
