Beam clamps, also sold as girder clamps, attach to the flange of a steel beam so you can hang lifting gear without drilling or welding. Beaver YC trolley and girder clamp 2,000 kg, for 72 to 200 mm flanges. Choosing a beam clamp Start with the load, then check the beam. The clamp's rated capacity must be at or above the load you will hang from it, and the clamp has to fit the width of the beam flange. The beam itself must also be strong enough to carry the load, and that is a structural question for your engineer or the person responsible for the structure, not something the clamp can settle. A trolley clamp lets the load move along the beam, and a fixed girder clamp holds it in one position. Use clamps with the lifting equipment they are designed for, inspect them before each use, and take any damaged or worn clamp out of service. Lifting work should be planned and carried out by competent people following the rules that apply to your site. Always check the data sheet.
