Choosing a funnel Match the funnel to the fluid and the opening you are filling. Fuel filter funnels have a filter built in to catch debris as you pour, which helps when you are filling from drums or older containers. Clean funnels suit oil and lubricants where contamination matters, and a drum funnel is made for filling drums. An offset or curved spout reaches awkward fill points, and an anti-spill design helps when the fill point is tight or at an angle. Keep funnels for different fluids separate so they are not cross-contaminated. Always check the data sheet. Confirm the funnel suits the fluid and opening size before use.
