في عام 1953 أصدر محمد بديع سربيه العدد الأول من "الموعد" واعتبر صاحب مدرسة رائدة في الصحافة الفنية، وقد كانت "الموعد" في بداياتها مجلة نصف شهرية ما لبثت أن تحوّلت إلى أسبوعية بناء على طلب كوكب الشرق الفنانة أم كلثوم.
