About

Native seeds are native to particular regions, habitats, and plant communities. A species native somewhere in North America is not automatically native to every state or county, so use this collection as a starting point and verify regional fit before planting. This collection may include flowers, herbs, grasses, food plants, and culturally important crops with different histories. Some Indigenous food crops are domesticated plants with deep cultural relationships rather than wild plants native to the present-day United States. Product pages should be used for the specific botanical and provenance record. Choose native plants responsibly Compare botanical identity, ecoregion, moisture, light, mature size, seed preparation, and local conservation guidance. Avoid moving rare wild genetics without permission, and do not substitute a broad continental label for local knowledge. For habitat planning, also browse the Pollinator Garden and Native Flower Seeds .
