About
The Chabana SA Khomo Basotho Heritage Blanket is a tribute to cultural heritage, designed by the distinguished creative director Mokete Mohapi . Inspired by the iconic Basotho Heritage blankets, Mokete created the Majabajaba blanket as part of the YBD Class of 2022. At the heart of the design is King Moshoeshoe I , surrounded by all the Kings who have reigned since him, including the current King, Letsie III. Notably, among these Kings, there was one Queen, Mofumahali Mantsébo Seeiso, who ruled from 1940 to 1960. The blanket also features the iconic Basotho shield and the Mokorotlo, a traditional symbol of the Basotho people. King Moshoeshoe I’s philosophy of “unity in diversity” is reflected in the design, and the name of the blanket embodies this principle. Additionally, it proudly displays the official Lesotho 200-year logo woven label. Available in a variety of colour designs, the Chabana SA Khomo measures 155cm x 165cm and is crafted from a premium blend of 50% Merino wool and 50% Dralon acrylic. This combination ensures both warmth and durability, offering a perfect fusion of heritage and comfort.
