About
The Story of muse Muse was originally founded in 1960 as "Tokyo Muse Co., Ltd.," a subsidiary established to sell colored papers like "Muse Cotton," which was manufactured by Abekawa Kogyo Co., Ltd. After spinning off to become an independent company, we began supplying drawing and art papers directly to schools and art supply stores. Later, we officially changed our name to "Muse Co., Ltd." and refreshed our brand logo. Our brand tagline, " DRAW ON OUR EXPERIENCE ," carries a dual meaning: it invites artists to "draw upon the paper using their own experiences," while also expressing our mission to "draw out and unleash the artist's potential through our paper." Today, Muse stands as Japan's leading pioneer in the field of watercolor paper. "Watson," a premium paper developed entirely in-house by Muse, continues to hold the position of the top-selling domestic watercolor paper in Japan to this day.
