About

American Made Bar Stools A great bar stool does more than fill a seat — it anchors the space. Whether you're outfitting a kitchen island, a home bar, or a dining counter, the right stools brings warmth, proportion, and character to any room. At Artisan Born, every bar stool is handcrafted in our Missouri workshop from locally sourced premium solid hardwoods. Our bar stools are built to last decades and are designed to look better with age. Call us at 1-800-674-0616 or chat with us anytime. Choosing the Right Height Bar stools come in three standard height ranges to match your counter or bar surface: Counter Height (24–26") — Pairs with standard kitchen counters and islands (36" surface height) Bar Height (28–30") — Designed for bar-height surfaces and raised islands (40–42" surface height) Extra Tall / Spectator (33–36") — For elevated bars, game rooms, or custom built-ins Common Set Sizes Most kitchens and bars are outfitted with 2, 3, or 4 stools. Islands under 6 feet typically seat 2–3 comfortably; longer runs or L-shaped bars often call for 4 or more. We recommend allowing 26–30" of width per stool for comfortable seating and easy movement. Available in Sets Set of 2 — Ideal for a standard kitchen island or small bar counter. Set of 4 — Our most popular choice, perfect for a larger island or full dining bar. Set of 6 — Built for long counters, open kitchens, and entertaining spaces. Wood Species & Finishes Our bar stools are available in the hardwoods we trust most for furniture that sees daily use: Walnut — Rich chocolate tones with dramatic grain; a perennial favorite for modern and transitional spaces. White Oak — Warm, neutral, and versatile with a tight, consistent grain that suits everything from Scandinavian to farmhouse styles. Walnut Finish Every walnut stool ships with our Satin Clear Finish — a durable, low-sheen protective coat that enhances the natural color and grain without masking it. Easy to clean and built for daily use. White Oak Finishes
