About
Wooden Baby Bouncers and Rockers A motorised seat does the moving for a baby. A wooden bouncer responds to the baby's own kicks and shifts, which keeps them an active participant rather than a passenger. That difference matters more than it sounds: the movement a baby generates themselves is the movement that builds core strength and body awareness. It also matters for the room. A wooden frame with a fabric seat looks like furniture and folds away, rather than sitting in the corner of a living room in moulded plastic. Indoor Baby Swings An indoor baby swing with its own stand needs no ceiling hook and no doorframe, so it moves between rooms and folds flat between uses. Ours take a harnessed seat from around six months, once head control is established, and swap to an open seat as a toddler gains balance. Swinging works the vestibular system, the balance sense in the inner ear, which is why a fractious baby often settles in a swing faster than in arms. Bouncer, Rocker or Swing? A bouncer sits low and responds to kicking. Best from the early weeks, as somewhere safe to put a baby down while staying in the room. A rocker moves on a curve and often converts into a toddler seat later, which makes it the longer lived of the two. A swing gives a bigger, rhythmic arc and suits a baby with head control, from around six months. It stays useful for years as the seat changes. Convertible pieces earn their price twice over: the bouncer that becomes a seat, the swing frame that takes a toddler seat. Using Them Safely Always use the harness : Even a baby who cannot roll yet will, eventually, on the day you are not expecting it. On the floor : Never on a table, counter or sofa. Not for sleep : A bouncer or rocker is for supervised awake time. Move a sleeping baby to a flat, firm surface. Watch the weight limit : Listed on each product page, along with the suggested age range. Clear the swing arc : Keep space in front and behind an indoor swing, and use a mat on hard floors. Frequen
