White brings a clean, bright feel to a garden, reflecting sunlight in a way that keeps a patio or terrace feeling wonderfully open. Porcelain is the material of choice for outdoor tiling, frost proof, dense, and non-porous, holding up to a wet British winter far better than natural stone with a fraction of the upkeep. Our 20mm white pavers can be laid straight onto a bed of sand or gravel without a concrete base, while thinner porcelain tiles need a properly prepared concrete base and exterior-grade adhesive. Whichever you choose, an anti-slip finish is worth prioritising for anywhere underfoot outside. White also has the benefit of staying cool underfoot on a hot day, unlike a much darker tone.
