About

An emergency remote head is a lighting fixture containing no internal battery, designed to be powered by a separate "remote capable" exit sign or emergency light unit. Instead of maintaining a battery in every single fixture down a hallway, you can install one central unit and wire multiple remote lighting heads to it. This approach significantly lowers long-term maintenance costs because there are fewer batteries to test and replace. Ideal for both indoor and outdoor applications, emergency lighting fixtures remote allow you to extend the range of your safety system without the bulk of self-contained units. Matching Voltage for Remote Lighting Heads The most critical factor when selecting a remote head is matching the voltage to your master unit. Voltage Matching: You must match the voltage of the head (6V, 12V, or 24V) to the output voltage of your central battery unit. Connecting a 6V head to a 12V battery will burn out the bulb instantly. Wattage Capacity: Your master unit has a specific "remote capacity" (e.g., 20 Watts). You must ensure the total wattage of all connected remote heads does not exceed this limit. Universal Design: Most of our heads come with a universal mounting plate that fits standard junction boxes, making installation simple. Types of Remote Heads We offer a variety of styles to suit different environments and mounting locations: Single vs. Double Head: Choose single lamp heads for targeted light or double heads for wider coverage in corridors. Outdoor Remote Heads: Fully sealed, wet location remote heads are designed for exterior mounting. These are perfect for lighting the area immediately outside an exit door, powered by a unit kept safely inside. LED vs. Halogen: Modern LED remote heads use very little power (often 1-2 Watts), allowing you to chain many more heads together than older halogen models.
