About

In Fever Dreams, Ana Luna conjures an uncanny dreamscape where folklore, horror, and psychological surrealism intertwine. This latest body of work builds upon the artist’s signature outsider style, merging humanoid beasts, haunted woods, and eerie rituals in pieces that echo both folk iconography and underground comics. Opening reception: Saturday, June 21st , 5 - 8 pm . Drinks will be provided by our friends at Stomping Ground Brewing Co., Fin Wines and Cré Wines. This exhibition will run from June 22nd to July 13th 2025, and will coincide with Kazuhiro Hori's FAKE , Liz Gridley's Still Bodies: Dialogues in Deathcare , Wendy Olsen's Inside the Imaginarium and Izzy Faith V's Soft Gore . Drawing from folk horror traditions and dream logic, these works feel like recounted visions: symbolic portraits drawn from a private mythology. A pale white creature with antlers stands under a winter moon, its human face alert and unblinking. A bipedal rabbit stumbles across a forest floor, arms outstretched in trance or transformation. Elsewhere, a woman’s body melds with fish scales, antlers blooming from her head like frozen branches. These chimerical figures, often mid-metamorphosis, echo ancestral fears and archetypes, blurring human, animal, and spirit in ways that feel instinctually unsettling. The exhibition title, Fever Dreams , captures this tone of lucid disorientation. The paintings suggest not so much nightmares as fevered visions: strange, symbolic, and charged with a deep, primitive emotion. And yet, there is humour here too, sly and dark, as if the monsters themselves are in on the joke. Fever Dreams is a world unto itself—personal, mythic, playful, and haunted. It's an invitation to linger in the woods (despite what you might find there), and ask yourself, ' is this a dream you’re having or one that’s having you?' Ana Luna is a multidisciplinary artist with a focus on digital and acrylic painting. Born in 1989 in Guanajuato, México, she began her creative career wo
