About
In A Fantastic Journey , Caroline Dewison presents a series of twenty miniature dioramas, each enclosed within a 3D-printed frame. These intricate, hand-painted scenes shift between the real and the fantastical—lush forests, glowing waterfalls, moonlit coves—each quietly observed by UFOs hovering overhead. Opening reception: Saturday, July 19th, 5 - 8 pm. Drinks will be provided by our friends at Stomping Ground Brewing Co., Fin Wines and Cré Wines. This exhibition will run from July 20th - August 10th 2025, and will coincide with Tokyo Jesus' Eternal Memories , Hannakin's Dream You Sprouts , and Aof Smith's Unrevealed Traits . The presence of these otherworldly visitors is a gentle reminder to consider how we see our planet. Perhaps, through their eyes, Earth’s natural beauty appears all the more miraculous: skies that shimmer, landscapes that pulse with life, waters that sparkle like stardust. Dewison’s dioramas are both whimsical and contemplative—tiny worlds that encourage big-picture wonder. Five of the works come to life as automata, with gently moving backgrounds that carry viewers through oceans, over hills, and even onto distant, crystalline planets. These vignettes aren’t just destinations, they're reminders to marvel, to imagine, and to see the familiar anew. Caroline Dewison crafts enchanting miniatures and dioramas from her base in Warrington, England. Inspired by the natural beauty of the woodlands near her home and the Lake District's scenic walks, Dewison now recreates mystical landscapes in miniature form. Her pieces, rich in detail and imagination, blend myth, magic, and nature. She invites viewers into expansive yet intimately scaled worlds, creating secret and sacred places within every scene.
