Wake From Your Sleep is an exhibition of new paintings by Chris Austin . This exhibition will run from September 4th to October 3rd and will coincide with Gerard Geer's solo show, Illuminate & Vivid , a group show. The opening reception has been postponed until further notice. We look forward to celebrating these shows with you soon! Melbourne is still under strict lockdown and will be until September 2nd at the earliest. We do not know if, when or how restrictions will be eased but we strictly follow all public health advice so please keep an eye on our socials for further updates. Interview with Chris Austin . Austin’s paintings intentionally feature wildlife living quite out of their usual habitat: a pod of whales flying through the sky, a shark ponderously making its way over a wooded highway. He enjoys creating contrasts, images that question and entertain the notion of connectivity. By presenting wildlife in scenes that oppose the expected, he creates environments in which nature becomes unnatural. Chris Austin is a painter and sculptor from Toronto, Canada. His works focus heavily on the environment, the changes it is going through, and our place in that narrative. One of the most impressive aspects of Austin’s work is his ability to generate and execute concepts at a prolific rate while maintaining an extremely high level of quality.
