In her latest collection, Comfort Zone , Dewi Plass has created a series of scenes in which comfort plays a central role. Set in intimate environments that evoke a sense of security through connection, warmth, and the presence of comfort foods, Plass explores what comfort really entails and the many forms it can take. Opening reception: Saturday, November 22nd, 5 - 8 pm. This is a free event. This exhibition will run from Nov 23rd - Dec 14th, 2025, and will coincide with Erika Sanada and Calvin Ma's Bond , Miho Hirano's The Beauties of Nature and Samuel Farnham's Propagules. The collection is Plass’s direct response to the pressures of our current moment, a time marred by widespread insecurities and social distress. Plass reflects, “In our society, we are constantly being pushed to move out of our comfort zone to achieve greatness. And while this constant striving leads to valuable experience and growth, I wonder, what might happen if we valued our comfort equally? What if we gave ourselves permission to slow down, to immerse ourselves in softness, to play in sweetness and to let the world outside fade for a moment? Can we claim space for rest, safety, and quiet without guilt?” Comfort Zone is about stepping away from everything the world pressures you to be. It’s a place where expectations fade into memory, and a unique kind of sanctuary begins to take shape, a refuge found in the dawn of a new day, in a quiet forest clearing, or even in the darkest of nights. It’s an ode to finding inner harmony in a world of softness. And while the echoes of the past may still linger in the background, the kindness of the present becomes your comfort zone. Dewi Plass (b. 1990, Nijmegen, Netherlands) is a Dutch artist whose early immersion in nature and animals laid the groundwork for her creative practice.
