About
Bulk fabric paired with the resin to wet it out, priced as a kit instead of as two line items. These are build quantities, not repair quantities: 5 and 10 yard rolls of 1708 biaxial, chopped strand mat and 6 oz cloth, matched to gallons or pails of polyester, vinyl ester or epoxy. Pick the resin by the job, not by price. Polyester is the shop default and the cheapest per gallon. Vinyl ester buys real water resistance and secondary bond strength for hulls and transoms. Epoxy bonds to cured laminate best and is the only one of the three that will not attack polystyrene foam core. Coverage is stated honestly on every kit. A gallon wets out roughly 4 of 5 yards of 1708 or mat at hand layup ratios, and covers 5 yards of 6 oz cloth comfortably.
