About
Approved vests versus comp vests Two different products share this page. Foam Type vests (Mustang Livery and Reflex, Onyx Universal youth, O'Brien Type II baby safe) are the ones that satisfy the carriage requirement. Comp vests (HO Syndicate Rebel, O'Neill Deep Sea, Liquid Force Heartbreaker) are neoprene and cut tight for riding, and they only count if the label says approved. Sizing is by weight for kids and by chest for adults. Youth is 50 to 90 lb, Mustang lists 55 to 88 lb, and infant is under 30 lb. Adults run Medium 36 to 40 inches and Large 40 to 44. O'Neill women's neoprene is sized 6, 8 and 10, and Connelly carries a big and tall neo vest to 4X-Large.
