Lager, Wheat Beer & Light Ales

About
Lagers were originally brewed in the mid 19th Century in the town of Pilzen in the Czech Republic. They're characterised by being blonde beers but can be amber or even dark coloured. Wheat beers are popular across the low countries and Germany where the addition of wheat malt to beers gives a lighter coloured beer favoured in the spring and summer. Pale and golden ales have risen in popularity in the UK, as their traditional low level of flavour from using only pale malt, has been offset by the use of improved hop varieties. There are many award winning pale ales produced by Britain's craft brewing community.
