Nano and mini machine polishers run pads from roughly 1 inch up to 3 inches, and they exist for the awkward ten percent of a car that a full size machine simply cannot reach. Mirror caps, badge surrounds, door shuts, bumper returns, the radius at the base of an A pillar and tight body lines all finish to the same standard as the panels either side of them once you have one in the kit. Match the pad to the area and the job gets easier. A 3 inch machine covers a bumper or a spoiler quickly, while the 1 inch and 2 inch machines get into the places a 3 inch pad still cannot sit flat. Most of these are convertible, shipping with interchangeable heads or counterweights so you can run rotary for bite in a tight spot and a 3mm or 12mm dual action orbit for a safe finish right beside it. They are also the tool of choice for refining wet sanded spots and knocking back dust nibs without polishing a whole panel.
