This is the difference between a wired van and a finished one. Flush-mount plates recess a plug or a socket into a wall or a drawer front, surface mounts sit proud where there is no cavity behind, and multi-pole enclosures gang two or four outlets into one opening. Single-hole through to four-pole, in black and white. Check the cut-out before you cut. The mounting hole is the measurement that matters and it is stated on each product, because a flush plate that is 2mm under leaves a gap you cannot hide.
