Shock cord, also known as bungee cord is made of a polyester jacket and a mono rubber core, which gives it a premium marine grade multi-strand elastic construction. The cord is covered in HT polyester with a fine plait smooth construction, which offers long-life wear resistance to abrasion and UV degradation. Shock cord is consistently able to stretch to over 100% of its original length and recover, and is not affected by water. These qualities make it a popular choice for use in a variety of applications where a strong, elastic cord is needed, such as in securing loads on boats or vehicles.
