About

H2 Glulam Beams is designed for use inside a dry, fully enclosed building, primarily to protect against termite attack. 2. Properties of H2 Glulam Beams Structural Strength: The glulam beam maintains its high inherent strength, allowing for long spans and high loads Protection: The chemical treatment is typically a low-toxicity, synthetic pyrethroid or similar compound applied to the laminations or via the glue line during the manufacturing process. Appearance: Because it is designed for internal use, H2 glulam can be supplied in high-quality visual grades if the beam is intended to be exposed in a finished ceiling or wall. Finish: It is easy to cut, drill, nail, and screw on-site, similar to untreated timber. For certain H2S (glue-line treated) products, the treatment is throughout the product, meaning cuts and holes do not require re-sealing, which simplifies installation. 3. Common Applications H2 Glulam beams are the ideal structural choice for load-bearing applications within the dry interior of a building, especially in areas where termite risk is present: Long-span Floor Beams Internal Ridge Beams (in vaulted ceilings) Large Door/Window Headers (Lintels) Columns and Posts (not in direct contact with the ground) Rafters and Purlins within the roof structure (protected by roofing materials) If we don't have it, Canterbury Timber can source it for you.
