Phenolic wheels are a hard wheel capable of handling heavy loads and impact–an industry favorite because of this and their economical price compared to steel and polyurethane wheels. They are relatively resistant to chemicals and oils but should not be used in applications where moisture can be present. They are constructed of macerated materials and impregnated with phenolic resins and then molded under high-heat and pressure.
