Axe BBCOR bats are the ones with the angled handle. The Axe knob is shaped like an axe handle so the bat sits in the fingers and the barrel stays square to the ball through contact; players who switch to it tend not to switch back. The current line is the Avenge Hybrid (alloy barrel, composite handle, end-loaded), the one-piece Strato alloy, and the Elite Hybrid, in -3 with a 2 5/8" barrel and the BBCOR .50 stamp. Several Axe models come in a flared knob version for players who want the Axe handle feel with a slightly more traditional grip, and a couple of prior-year Avenge and Elite bats are on closeout under $100.
