Axe wood bats put the angled Axe handle on a maple barrel. The Axe Pro Composite (a maple-composite laminate that is nearly unbreakable and BBCOR-approved), the AXE50 and GS4 Pro Maple, and the Flared Pro Series maple make up the Axe-branded line; and the Victus Axe collaboration puts the same handle on Victus Pro Reserve maple in the V243 and JC24 turns. The Axe handle keeps the barrel square through contact and takes the load off the bottom hand's hamate bone, which is why several MLB hitters swing one.
