Heart of the Hide is the Rawlings glove most people picture when they think of a pro glove. The shell is US steerhide cut from the top 5% of hides, so it starts firm, holds its shape, and breaks in to the way you play rather than the way it came out of the box. Inside you get a deer-tanned cowhide palm lining, wool blend padding and a padded thumb sleeve, and the patterns are the ones Rawlings' advisory players use. The rack covers baseball infield, outfield, first base and utility sizes from 11.5" to 12.75", plus fastpitch gloves and first base mitts and 13" and 14" slowpitch patterns. There are ContoUR fit models for smaller hands, Traditional Series, Pro Label Denim and player models like the Kris Bryant KB17, most in right- and left-hand throw. Prices run from about $200 to $350. The Gold Glove Club releases here are one-off Heart of the Hide colorways, right-hand throw only; the current month lists at $329.99 and earlier months get marked down as they age.
