About

Karibou is a contemporary French artist whose paintings bring an immediate and deeply personal connection to the natural world, where animals, coastal light, and the rhythms of Provençal life are observed with a painter's eye refined over five decades of practice and international exhibition. Since her first Paris exhibition in 1973, Karibou has shown her work throughout France and abroad, working from her Provençal atelier and her studio on the Atlantic island of L'Île d'Yeu. Her paintings are inspired by the wild coastal landscape of island life and the seasonal Provençal countryside, and she works across oils, pastels, lithography, and engraving with equal fluency. The collection includes animal paintings, cat and dog portraits, figurative works, small oils, and artist books that document a practice shaped by a deep fascination with nature and a close observation of people and animals. These works suit living rooms , studies , and bedrooms , where their warmth and precision reward daily proximity. Smaller oils and animal portraits work particularly well grouped together or placed alongside antique French furniture and botanical artwork . Each work is carefully documented and professionally photographed, with condition noted. Stock is updated in real time, and all works ship directly from France, professionally packed for safe delivery. Karibou's paintings are the work of an artist who has spent a lifetime looking carefully, and that attention is visible in every piece.
