The Wing Chun Eight Chop Knife is a unique sword technique practiced in Wing Chun Kung Fu. The term 'Eight Chop Knife' does not refer to the name of the knife itself but rather designates the collective name for this set of knives. The knives themselves are also known as 'gassho knives,' which are two knives of the same size used in combination. When separated, they resemble a butterfly when held horizontally, hence the alternate name 'butterfly knife.'
