About + Bio Abhisek Basak is many things rolled into one – a dreamer, an achiever, a wanderer and often, an explorer. But first and foremost, he is a storyteller, and an impulsive one at that. A graduate of the famed NIFT Hyderabad, his obsession with storytelling started quite early. After a successful career that spanned experiences in fashion, packaging and graphic design industries, he decided to settle with what was his heart’s calling – to become a spinner of yarns. But Abhisek’s stories are not to be heard, for they are often silent. They adorn, bedeck and often accentuate the audience with a beauty previously inexperienced. For his stories dabble with pieces from the past – vintage watch casings, old clock gears, ornate pieces, rusty typewriters and other intricate assets – his ingredients for a successful spell. He combines them literally with his unique touch, to create timeless pieces that defy a definition. Each creation, or a ‘story’ as he likes to call them, holds a piece of unique history, not found in any other piece of his. Each artifact is its own book, a story that is waiting to be heard. From USB pen drives to exquisite pieces of jewelry, table lamps, gaming consoles, Abhisek’s portfolio of ‘unique tales of creation’ is only expanding.
