About
What is Boiler Filtration? Boiler filtration is crucial for preventing scaling, corrosion, and system failures in residential, commercial, and industrial heating systems. By removing impurities like suspended solids, dissolved gases, and magnetite, it enhances efficiency and extends equipment lifespan . Cleanflow’s Boiler Filtration Collection offers top-tier solutions that effectively eliminate debris and contaminants, ensuring optimal performance and long-term protection for your boiler. Types of Boiler Filtration Systems Mechanical Filtration : This system removes suspended solids such as dirt, debris, and other particulates that can clog boiler components. High-pressure systems often include ultrafiltration, which can filter out particles as small as one micron, ensuring cleaner water flow. Magnetic Filters : Designed specifically to capture magnetite (iron oxide sludge) caused by corrosion in radiators and pipes. These filters use a powerful magnetic core to attract and trap metallic debris, preventing buildup and improving boiler efficiency. Ion Exchange : This filtration method softens water by replacing calcium, magnesium, and iron ions with sodium ions. By reducing water hardness, ion exchange systems help prevent scale formation, which can impair heat transfer and lead to inefficiencies. Reverse Osmosis (RO) : RO filtration effectively removes dissolved salts, organic compounds, silica, and bacteria from boiler feedwater. It is particularly useful for high-pressure boilers that require exceptionally pure water to prevent scaling and fouling. Deaeration/Degasification : This process eliminates dissolved oxygen and carbon dioxide, which can cause corrosion inside the boiler system. Deaeration is achieved using spray or tray deaerators, while oxygen scavengers may also be used to remove residual gases.
