What is a capacitor bank (APFC)? A capacitor bank (Automatic Power Factor Correction, APFC) is a multi-step assembly of BSMJ shunt capacitors switched in / out by an intelligent controller (JKW5C) to maintain a target power factor (typically 0.95+). Pakistani factories above 50 kW load install APFC banks to eliminate NEPRA maximum-demand (MD) penalties — payback typically 2–3 months. Built to IEC 60831-1 (capacitors) + IEC 61921 (capacitor-bank assemblies).
