A DB box (distribution board, or consumer unit) is an enclosed assembly housing the main isolator, MCBs, RCBOs, SPD, and bus-bars that distribute power from the utility incoming to a building's branch circuits. Pakistani residential and commercial DB boxes are rated by the number of single-module "ways" (4, 6, 8, 12, 18, 24-way), with plastic (YCX1, IP20 indoor), steel (YCX6, IP30 commercial), or waterproof IP65 (HA / YCX8) variants.
