Verrerie de Saint-Just has blown flat glass by hand in France's Loire valley since 1826, and is one of only two manufacturers in the world still producing mouth-blown flat glass. Their glass has gone into the restoration of the Palace of Versailles and the Louvre, and into work by artists from Chagall onward. Expect bubbles, cords, and surface movement. That is the material, and it is exactly why it gets specified on monuments.
