Vapour Insulation, otherwise known as vapour-tight insulation, is a material used in building construction in walls, ceilings and flooring to stop moisture from penetrating through barrier constructions whilst allowing airflow to continue. Vapour barriers are installed as a way of preventing water (from condensation and temperature change) from penetrating through ceilings or walls, and getting trapped inside damaging plasterwork and ultimately the structural integrity.
