In 1948, Australian manufacturer Fred James purchased an entire worsted spinning mill in Yorkshire, England, and transported the machinery, staff, and managers to Shepparton, Victoria, where production began in 1949. The company grew and merged with Wangaratta Woollen Mills in 1980 and is now part of Australian Yarn Company. It is r ecognized as a premium brand in Australia and New Zealand, known for producing versatile, high-quality, and machine-washable yarns.
