What is a Marijuana Drug Test? A marijuana drug test is a form of biological technical analysis that can determine if delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is present in the human body. THC is the active chemical in marijuana that produces psychoactive sensations when inhaled or ingested. What Does a Marijuana Drug Test Test For? A marijuana or THC drug test specifically detects the presence of marijuana in the body. Most often, this is determined by identifying whether or not delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol is present.
