Crystals AB crystals are the most popular crystal colour we sell, and it’s easy to see why. Aurora Borealis, shortened to AB and often listed as Crystal AB, is an iridescent coating applied over the top of a crystal so it glows with all the colours of the rainbow. Think of the sheen on a soap bubble, or an oil spill catching the light. Our AB range runs from tiny SS2 right up to statement SS60 in genuine Preciosa , Swarovski , Zodiac and Luna . The clever thing about AB is that it picks up the colours around it. Against a pale background it shines pink, purple, yellow and gold. Against a dark background it shifts to green, blue and deeper shades of purple. That makes it a brilliant choice when you can’t settle on a colour, or when you can’t find an exact match to your fabric, because AB goes with everything. AB is a favourite right across the crafts we supply: Dance and performance - non hotfix AB crystals are our top seller for competition costumes. They lift the colour of any fabric and catch the stage lights beautifully. Apply them in bulk to collars, cuffs and seams, or work them into a pattern. Bridal - AB flatbacks suit gowns, bridesmaid dresses, veils and shoes, and AB hotfix crystals are lovely on invitations, place cards and thank you cards. Pointed back AB chatons, which are crystals with a cone-shaped back rather than a flat one, look stunning scattered across wedding tables. Nail art - AB works over any shade of polish or gel, which is why it is a staple for our nail technician customers. Shapes like raindrop, heart and teardrop mix beautifully with round gems. Jewellery and craft - AB beads, pendants and single stone settings are popular with tiara makers, jewellery designers and card makers.
