About
Carnelian beads are the warm note in the gemstone palette — translucent orange chalcedony, sold in the trade as carnelian agate or red agate, that seems to glow when light passes through it. The color runs from pale orange to deep red carnelian, and faceted carnelian turns that translucency into sparkle where smooth rounds keep it soft. 8mm rounds are the mala and bracelet size. Strung with lapis lazuli, turquoise or tiger eye, it is the color that warms the whole piece.
