Round is the shape every design starts with — it's predictable to string, easy to pair, and never fights with the rest of a piece. Faceting takes that reliability and adds a layer most designers didn't know they needed: dozens of cut planes (32 to 64 facets on the smaller sizes) angled to throw light in every direction instead of letting it roll softly across a smooth surface. The result reads brighter, smaller, and more refined than a plain round at the same diameter — a real shift, not just a texture change.
