About

Tanzanite beads are the blue-violet ones — zoisite from a single deposit in northern Tanzania, cut small because the rough is scarce, so a strand of 3mm or 4mm faceted rounds carries more color than its size suggests. The stone shifts as it turns, blue from one angle and violet from the next, and faceted rondelles catch that most. It runs cool and rich against gold-fill or sterling, and beside pearl, moonstone, or labradorite it is the deep note in a pale palette.
