About

Cambria, a Venetian artist born in the early 70s, trained to be an artist following years of experience as a theatrical set designer. His artwork draws inspiration from the aesthetics of analytical painting and the minimalist art of the 60s and 70s. Cambria's paintings, acrylic on canvas, feature a process of "reduction of reality". This leads reality back to its essential elements, anti-expressiveness, impersonality, emotional coldness, emphasising the objectivity and physicality of the work, reducing geometric structures and simplifying organic forms. The concept is to start from scratch using a pure form, bringing the pictorial surface and colours to maximum simplicity, with which the artist "paints to paint" and nothing more. It is abstract art that does not accurately depict a visual reality; it uses shapes, colours, forms and gestural marks to achieve its goal instead. Cambria's abstract works are visually light but have a strong impact, almost like oriental ideograms, enhancing contemporary homes with natural discretion and filling them with elegance and refinement.
