A coil cover is the cheapest insurance in detecting. The bottom of a coil is a thin shell over the windings, and dragging it across gravel, shell beach or frozen ground wears through it faster than most people realize. A skid plate takes that abuse instead. Covers are model specific, so match the exact coil size and shape rather than the detector name, and replace the cover once wear marks start showing through. We carry factory skid plates for Minelab, Garrett, XP, Nokta, Fisher and White's coils, plus covers for aftermarket coils from Coiltek, CORS, Mars and Nugget Finder.
