Composite Cleaning Pencils

A composite pencil removes dirt and corrosion mechanically without the chemical risk of a dip, which is why conservators and careful detectorists use them on anything that might turn out to be worth something. You work slowly, under magnification if you can, and take off only what sits on top of the surface rather than the surface itself. The kits pair the pencil with Preserve It wax for sealing the piece afterward, which is the step most people skip and the reason a lot of nicely cleaned relics go green again a year later.
