Standard coin machines run out of depth somewhere around 12 inches. Deep seeking detectors trade fine discrimination for raw reach, using two-box configurations, large mono coils or ground-penetrating designs to find caches, buried tanks and old foundations several feet down. They ignore small targets on purpose. If you are chasing a rumored cache, mapping a homestead site or locating buried metal on a property, this is the category. Just accept that you will not be picking dimes out of a park with one.
