The Falcon MD20 is a 300 kHz probe, and that extreme frequency is the whole point: it responds to gold far too small and too close to the surface for any search detector to register. Prospectors use it for checking specimen rock, working quartz seams, cleaning bedrock crevices and examining material by hand. It has almost no depth, which is not a fault but the design. Where it earns its place is finding the gold that would otherwise go on the waste pile.
