About
Fisher Research Laboratory holds the oldest name in the business, founded in 1931 by Gerhard Fisher, who patented the first portable metal detector. The modern range reflects that engineering-led history rather than chasing features: the F series covers coin and relic hunting at sensible money, the Gold Bug family remains one of the best-regarded VLF gold platforms ever built, and the CZ and Impulse machines are serious beach and water detectors. Fisher detectors tend to be simple to run and very hard to wear out.
