The F4 was Fisher's mid-range coin and relic machine and the F44 is its direct descendant, which is why both sit together here. The F44 kept what made the F4 work — a 7.69 kHz signal, manual and automatic ground balance, and a genuinely useful notch discrimination system — and added weatherproofing, a backlit display and a real improvement in battery life from a pair of AAs. It is a light, quiet machine that behaves well in mineralized dirt, and Fisher's five year warranty on it says something about how they rate it. Coils are the standard Fisher and Teknetics fitment, so aftermarket options fit directly.
