The Excalibur II is still the reference for underwater detecting, rated to 200 feet and used by working divers as well as surf hunters. It runs BBS multi-frequency with an analog interface: no screens, no target numbers, just tone. That puts some people off, but audio is what you can actually use at depth, and detectorists who learn it stop wanting the display back. Set it up properly for salt and it will out-hunt machines that look far more modern on paper.
