About

Pulse induction machines ignore ground mineralization almost entirely, which is why they own the two places VLF detectors fall apart: heavily mineralized goldfields and wet salt beaches. They send short bursts of power into the ground and time the decay, so black sand, hot rocks and salt barely register. The cost is discrimination. A PI machine finds nearly everything metal and leaves the sorting to you. If you are chasing nuggets in ironstone or working deep wet sand, that is a trade worth making.
