About

Stock shafts are usually the first thing serious hunters replace. Carbon fiber knocks meaningful weight off the swing, which you feel after hour four, and it does not flex and chatter the way a worn aluminum lower does. A telescopic carbon shaft collapses small enough to fly with. Lower rods take the most abuse and are the cheapest piece to keep a spare of, especially if you hunt water or rocky ground. Fit matters more than brand here: the lower rod has to match the coil ear spacing and the cam lock has to match the upper. We stock Anderson, Steve's Detector Rods, Detect-Ed, CKG and Detecting Innovations, plus factory replacements.
